You can request that data be deleted. I've been using Kindle for well over a decade, and it has improved my life dramatically! I have vision issues, which require the use of additional light on pages of paper books.
With my Kindle, I can adjust the font size, change the background so that there's less white light going into my eyes, and reduce or increase the brightness on the screen. And how awesome is it that I can have multiple books that fit in the palm of my hand and can go with me anywhere, so I can read at any time?! Update 8.
Just pausing and resuming immersion reading causes random location changes, often resets. My advice is download a version from over 4 years ago; it worked well back then. I've been a Software Engineer for 35 years. The frequency and severity of bugs in this app show some of the worst quality control in the industry, every update worse than the one before! Institute testing before release, please! It seems like they are intentionally making this app worse as time goes on, as a way of forcing us to use their kindle.
The app now doesn't always stack series titles together, separating some and not allowing you to manually add it in. It is also now showing 60 "docs" on my book list, but they have no viewable content. If I delete these docs, the app will automatically download them onto my phone again.
